Active Support – Connecting with others shows how disability support workers can implement Active Support – an evidence based approach shown to improve the quality of life of people with disability and increase work satisfaction of the staff supporting them.

Active Support is a person centred way for people with disability to engage in meaningful everyday activities of their choice, with just the amount of support they need.

People with disability have let us know they want to be more involved in their own lives and like all of us, be understood and feel valued. When supporting those who may communicate through behaviours of protest it can be frightening for everyone but taking less than a minute to see what this film is saying can provide insight into what someone may be trying to tell you.
